In the Journal of the Society of Automotive Historians in Britain there is a brief history by Michael Worthington-Williams of friction-drive transmission, listing an extraordinary number of cyclecars and cars so endowed (but not the Stoneleigh), and a piece on the cars of Mr Brown of Devizes from 1898. Only by being members of such organisations are such articles normally available, but sometimes it may be possible to obtain copies which will help to fund the clubs involved.
