What goes around...F3 back at Monaco
Banished from the Principality in 1998 when Formula 3000 ‘hijacked’ its Monaco GP support slot, Formula Three gets its prestige Monte Carlo street race back on May 21. It’s no longer an allcomers race for contenders from all the major series, but instead counts as a points-scoring round of the ultra-competitive F3 Euroseries. The last F3 winner at Monaco, in ’97 was F1 Williams ace Nick Heidfeld, while Giancarlo Fisichella won it in ’94. Jackie Stewart, Ronnie Peterson and Alain Prost are also on the roll of honour. Expect Franck Perera and Lewis Hamilton to be the men to beat in ’05.
