VSCC sees red with Ferrari demo

As many as seven recent Formula One Ferraris and a three-hour team race for pre-war sportscars are the highlights that the VSCC has unveiled for its See Red event at Donington on September 11/12.

The Fl demonstration will be staged by the factory-based Corsa Clienti operation and should include cars from the past five seasons. An ex Michael Schumacher F2000 will be among them.

For the pre-war enduro, 32 teams of up to six cars will take part, with teams made up by marque or model. In all, as many as 180 cars could take part in a race that will run into the evening on Saturday.

The weekend will also feature the usual Seaman Trophy races as well as three grids for the Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge.

A dedicated ERA race will mark the 70th anniversary of both the marque and the club. The VSCC’s Julian Ghosh said: “We are hoping to get nearly all of the ERAs onto the grid.”

The VSCC racing year will open at Silverstone on April 24 with the Spring Start meeting, which is headlined by the Itala Trophy for pre-1931 cars.
