Rivers Fletcher recognised by RAC President

Congratulations to Rivers Fletcher, whose lifetime contribution to motorsport has been recognised with an RACMSA Prince Michael Award of Merit for 1997-8. Rivers’ long and distinguished career started, somewhat precariously, as teenaged riding mechanic to Sir Malcolm Campbell at Brooklands in 1928, and his vivid recollections of this, and his subsequent working life in racing with WO Bentley, ERA and BRM continue to sustain several entertaining talks for enthusiasts each year.
