The Gunnar Nilsson Memorial Meeting

THE FORMULA ONE race planned as the star attraction at Donington Park’s Gunnar Nilsson Memorial Meeting on June 3rd has been cancelled. In its place FOCA will run a series of single car demonstration laps with the top Grand Prix drivers and cars pitting themselves against the clock one at a time to set a new outright lap record. As Bernie Ecclestone has threatened to bring the Brabham fan car along, banned after its Swedish victory last year, it should be an exercise well worth watching.

In theory a ProCar race with Grand Prix drivers in mid-engined BMW M1s should be held too, but that depends upon what happens to this Championship at Zolder and Monaco.
