A member of the Industrial Railway Society confirms that the locomotive called “Brooklands” which was used in the construction of Brooklands Track, was a class-L, 0-6-0 Manning Wardle saddle-tank loco with 12 in. X 18 in. cylinders, bought new by Price & Reeves in 1907 and delivered to them at Weybridge. The question is, where is it now, so that 5 may be photographed and possibly preserved by the Brooklands Society? A Rochet motor-tricycle may be seen in the next VCC Brighton Run. A Brooklands-model Austin 7 is apparently being restored in New Zealand. The current magazine of the Vintage Austin Register has a photograph of at-sty unusual 1935 Austin 20 tourer and tells of a 1928 Austin 16 Burnham saloon, converted to a pick-up truck which is still used to tow gliders at the Blackpool and Fylde Gliding Club. A Voisin has won the opening event of this year’s VSCC of Australia season. Volvo are celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Reminder— the Historic Cornmercial Vehicle Club’s London-Brighton Run starts on May 1st from Battersea Park, leaving at 6.30-9.30 hours and going via the A23, to arrive at Brighton at 10.30-13.00 hours, the route going through Crawley, with a halt there from 9.30 hours. A varied entry of IRO will take part, of which over 70 arc newcomers to the Run, the oldest of these being a 1900 Renault van.
