"Cowboys"

I would like to comment upon Mr. C. W. G. Russell’s portion of letter concerning “Cowboys.”

I am 19 and therefore cannot afford anything grander than a not-quite-worn-out 1956 Ford Popular, not to mention insurance (some of us are insured which your correspondent may find difficult to believe) and whilst I would enjoy myself enormously playing at Jim Clark one simply cannot entertain the idea in a Ford Popular or anything similar. So don’t give up hope sir – we’re not all potential suicidals or murderers. Although P.C. Russell could no doubt pass today’s driving test I wonder how many of his age group could?

Just as a matter of interest did you know that a big bore costs some 30 shillings less than a standard replacement exhaust system?
