On May 5th the B.R.D.C. has a very full day’s racing at Silverstone on the occasion of the annual Daily Express Trophy Meeting. There will be the usual 500-c.c., production-touring-car, and sports-car races to offset the International Trophy race for Formula 1 cars. So many entries have been received for the sports-car race that it will be run off in two parts, each over 25 laps (75miles), for cars of up-to and over 1½ litres, respectively. In the former a fierce Cooper/Lotus battle is sure to rage and in the latter Moss (Aston Martin DB3S) will meet Hawthorn in the latest version of works D-type Jaguar. The touring-car race should be enlivened because Moss hopes to pit a Mercedes-Benz 300S against the Mk. VII Jaguar saloons which usually dominate this event, and Parnell will drive Metcalfe’s TS Borgward saloon. The International Trophy will have a fine field of the leading Formula 1 cars. Details of what spectator accommodation remains are obtainable from the Daily Express offices in Fleet Street.

On May 6th the Bugatti O.C. has its International Speed Hill-climb at Prescott, near Cheltenham.

Witsun is going to be a busy time for enthusiasts, for on the Saturday there is a National Open Race Meeting of the West Essex C.C. at Snetterton, and on Whit-Monday there is another big meeting at Goodwood (details from the B.A.R.C., 55, Park Lane, W.1) and a National Open Meeting of the B.R. & S.C.C. at the Crystal Palace circuit in London.
