Princess Yachts has revealed its fastest-ever boat, the R/Evolution 35, which brings a host of Formula 1 and sportscar technology to the water.
The carbon fibre hull has been jointly designed by two familiar names: Pininfarina and BAR Technologies (Not that one, this one’s Ben Ainslie Racing Technologies), which has developed a revolutionary Active Foil System, allowing the boat to adapt its handling and stability to different conditions.
The head of BAR Tech is former McLaren F1 boss Martin Whitmarsh, who is reunited with Princess chairman – and former McLaren road car boss – Antony Sheriff.
“It’s a bizarre parallel – I now make the road boats while he makes the race ones!” said Sheriff of the £535,000, 860bhp boat.
