Legends race entry refined

Cars built between 1949 and 1965 will contest the 2009 Le Mans Legends race, run on the Saturday morning (June 13) ahead of the 24-hour classic.

The Legends race will feature an entry starting with cars like the Aston Martin DB2 and Ferrari 166MM. Later cars expected in the field include the Ferrari 275LM and 330LMB, Aston Martin DBR1 and Jaguar C-type and D-type.

Organiser Duncan Wiltshire said: “This is our ninth historic support race at Le Mans. We want to ensure the battle for victory is closely fought and, to this end, Ford GT40s will not be invited this year as their success lay after this era.”
