Etcell defends Silverstone record

Roger Etcell, boss of 2008 Silverstone Classic promoters Motion Works UK, has hit back at comments made by Ken Prichard Jones regarding the financial outcome of the meeting.

Although rights holder Prichard Jones has now handed the promotion of the 2009 event to Goose Communications, Etcell has said that the event was on financial target.

“It was always recognised that Year One would be the most unpredictable but that, over a five-year term, the event would deliver a healthy return on investment,” said Etcell. “Motion Works is confident this would have been the case had they continued in their role.”
