F1 bonanza tops the bill
The Silverstone Classic is set to feature four races for 3-litre F1 cars in a programme that takes in both a round of the FIA Historic Formula 1 Championship and the Grand Prix Masters series.
It is rare for the series to appear on the same bill, as both cater predominantly for 1970s 3-litre cars. But the chance to compete on the Silverstone GP circuit means that each series will have a race on each day of the meeting. The HF1 races will follow on from a Brands Hatch GP circuit event a month earlier. Bringing both series to Silverstone could put over 50 classic F1 cars on the track.
