If you have enjoyed following the rise and fall and rise of Ferrari’s F1 team over the years, you will enjoy this book. It’s really that simple. The author was a trusted friend of Enzo, who carried much influence, though he never overestimates his own worth. He was in awe of the Old Man, but no-one else. He is not backward at coming forward, and it is fabulous reading the Italian perspective on important issues in the marque’s long history — Eugenio Dragoni versus John Surtees, Imola ’82, the 1970 Sebring 12 hours, and little mysteries like the Indycar project of the 1980s. I only wish the chapters were longer. This well-illustrated book could be expanded four times over and still be riveting. DM
