Omission impossible
Sir,
I’m a bit bothered by a glaring omission in your Top 20 All-rounders — Peter Brock, truly one of the great all-rounders.
He was multiple Australian touring car champion, nine wins in the Bathurst 1000; Australian rallycross champion; winner of the Around Australia Rally in the 1980s, against factory teams; multiple hill-climb winner in the ’70s; raced at Le Mans in a Porsche 962 and in a works Porsche 944; was Australian Sedans champion; competed in NASCAR/Auscar races — and did a season of F2, whilst still competing in everything else.
I have a sneaking suspicion that he also did a few drag races, but you get my drift. Not only did he compete in just about every type of top-level motorsport, but he was successful at them all.
I am, yours etc, Alan Gow, London
