Terrific and terrifying

Sir,

I’ve been a fan of yours for about a year now, but you truly surpassed yourself with the Turbo Years issue (February).

I’ve always regarded this era as the most exciting in the history of the championship, not just from a technical view, but more so when you were watching the likes of Prost, Senna, Mansell, Piquet, Lauda and Villeneuve going ten-tenths in machinery both amazing and terrifying. I doubt we’ll see anything quite like it ever again, and I cherish the fact I was alive to witness it. Not to mention Simon Taylor’s wonderful take on various backmarker teams through the years, and Nigel Roebuck’s hilarious and touching Fangio piece; in any other publication, this would have been a ‘best of’.

Sign me up for the rest of my life!
