Plum-ing the depths

Sir,

I have generally been a happy reader of MOTOR SPORT since September 1967, and have usually enjoyed the articles published therein. However, I have to vent my displeasure to a part of the article regarding Aintree in the January 2001 issue. I refer to the section, “And Moss wins the British Grand Prix’, the plummy voices declares excitedly.”

Said plummy voice belongs to Raymond Baxter who, to some of us old warhorses, is still the voice of motor racing. I just wonder what Mr Malsher would have made of John Bolster’s voice.

I AM, YOURS ETC,

Mike Mellors, Sunbury on Thames, Middx
