True Grit

Sir,

Being a fan, I was delighted to see two pictures of my car in your January 2000 issue (Carrera-PanAmericana 1999 Pictorial Review). I am the pilot of the 1954 Pringles-liveried Buick. However, though you flattered me by saying “we showed grit’ for finishing despite front suspension collapses, I’d say the term “stubbornness” would suit us better (or at least that is what my wife believes).
