Ferrari facts
Sir
Although a bit late, I’d like to make a comment on the “Ferrari Follow-up” article by W P K in the April 1991 issue of MOTOR SPORT. The car illustrated in Canada with E Goldschmidt is not his 375 Plus, chassis 0932AM, the ’54 Pan-Am winner which he raced later on. This car had a 375 Plus chassis with De Dion back axle and instead of its standard 4.9-litre motor had a special one rebored to 5.1 litres. The car in the picture is Goldschmidt’s old 375MM chassis 0376AM, a 4.5-litre motor in a standard 375MM chassis without De Dion axle. Both cars look somewhat the same, being Pininfarina designs but differ by quite a few details, while the mechanicals and chassis are very different.
MOTOR SPORT is always interesting to read, so keep up the good work.
