Grand Prix
by Trevor Griffiths. Bloomsbury Publishing, £16.99.
Pedants of the world unite. Although motor racing reference books don’t have a long shelf-life (this one will effectively be out of date after this year’s South African GP), this is an excellent record of everything that has happened in World Championship motor racing from Silverstone 1950 to Adelaide 1991.
Results, reasons for retirement and drivers’ career records are all presented in strangely digestible form, considering that not one single photograph has been deployed between the covers.
It’s not exactly lightweight bedtime reading, but it is a most useful reference source. SA
