Army Air Corps Silver Jubilee
In 1982 the Army Air Corps — which can trace its origins to the first world war — celebrates its Silver Jubilee in a three-day extravaganza during the last week of July. The event, which is to be called Army Air 82, will take place at the UK’s biggest grass airfield and home of the Army Air Corps, Middle Wallop, Andover, Hants, on July 23rd to 25th.
The central theme of Army Air 82 is to be the world’s first International Helicopter Meet, to which over 50 of the world’s Air Arms have been invited along with many civilian helicopter operators and manufacturers. An International Military Helicopter and Equipment Exhibition and Symposium will be staged by Flight International at Middle Wallop in conjunction with Heli-Meet International. The 1982 British Helicopter Championships will be one of a number of other attractions included.
