The spares problem

Sir,
Mr. J. Fraser in his letter comments on the lack of spares for his Daimler; let him not think himself alone in this matter. You Mr. Editor, Sir, are indeed fortunate that you have not required spares for the Editorial Rover 2000, because had you so required spares you would have found Rover’s to be not very interested.

I appreciate more fully now the feelings of countries who buy equipment from their friends only to find that a politicians’ whim can deprive them of essential spares. ls it really BLMC’s policy to put on a saleman’s smiling face only until the money has changed hands? Let them remember that they are British and that there are not many British Motor Companies left.

I for one am having to do a lot of heart searching as I need a new car and I would like to buy British.

P. G. Sarll.
