Winning for Britain
Sir George Harriman has sent a personal letter to each of 100,000 employees as part of his “B.M.H. is out to win for Britain” campaign. After devaluation the company’s production programmes in the first quarter of this year are 26 per cent higher than they were before devaluation was announced. The company pulled off a useful bit of publicity when it was announced that John Lindsay, Mayor of New York City, had been presented with an Austin London taxi, following a remark that something ought to be done about his city’s taxis.
