Wiscombe Park
Wiscombe Park Hill-Climb course, near Lyme Regis in Devon (London 162 miles): has been extended for this year to a full 1,000 yards. The surface is smooth tarmacadam, minimum width 11 feet, and speeds approaching 90 m,p.h. can be attained up Wis Straight, after which heavy braking is called far to negotiate The Gate, the Ewes, and Saw-Bench Hairpin which calls for bottom gear. Then, up Castle Straight under the Motor Sport bridge, speeds of 80 m.p.h. over are passible before taking steep Martini hairpin. The first meeting at this pleasant and sporting venue will take place on Sunday, April 23rd.
