Miscellaneous

Harking back to the Palm Beach sports-car races in America, it seems that the winning Duesenberg was built in the late 1920s, but had new axles, brakes, probably wheels, and steering, while a V8 engine was installed using Edelbrock equipment. Thus about all that was Duesenberg was the chassis and body. However, this hybrid beat the “Silverstone” Healeys, Alfa-Romeos, Jaguar XK 120, etc. The brake trouble experienced by some of the British cars seems to have been total rubbing away of all brake lining.
