Johnny relives his Benetton days
Lunch with Johnny Herbert was an entertaining affair at the Lloyd’s Motor Club in the City of London. He enthralled 84 club members and guests with anecdotes about his racing career at Benetton with Michael Schumacher and told some humorous stories about working with team boss Flavio Briatore.
Club chairman Roger Earl got Johnny to sign a photograph from his Jaguar racing days, which will be auctioned off for charity. Roger is co-driver to Stirling Moss at this year’s Le Mans Legends race and will compete in three RAC Woodcote Trophy races at Silverstone – I wish him the best of luck!
Back at the lunch guests enjoyed a three-course meal and put some challenging questions to Johnny, who said: “It was a pleasure to talk to such enthusiastic and knowledgeable members.” Johnny will be back in the UK to attend the British GP at Silverstone.
