Euro prototypes back in Britain
The European Sports Prototype series will race in Britain for the first time in three years during the Silverstone Historic Tribute Meeting on June 4-6.
The Group 4 cars will share top billing with the new Grand Prix Masters series during a 19-race weekend on the International circuit.
A stunning grid of pre-1971 sports prototypes is promised, made up of Lola T70s, Chevron B8s and B16s and Lotus 23Bs. New entrants have joined the Group 4 Series this year, including Roderick Smith (Taydec), Stuart Tizzard (Elva Mk7) and Sean Walker (Chevron B16).
The HSCC-organised event will feature racing on each of its three days, starting on Friday afternoon with five races for HSCC and VSCC classes. The VSCC Hawthorn and Spanish Trophies race for pre-1961 racing cars takes place on Saturday, while Sunday’s racing includes HGPCA drum-braked sportscars and BRDC Historic Sportscars, as well as the second Group 4 and GP Masters races.
