At least six 3-litre formula One cars from the pre-’72 era are set to contest the inaugural Classic Grand Prix race to be held at Austria’s A1-Ring on June 12-13.

Michael Schryver’s Lotus 72, two March 711s, the ex-Graham Hill Brabham BT34 and the Matra MS120 and Ferrari 312 from Abba Kogan’s stable are likely.

The ex-Jim Clark Lotus 48 R1 of Bob Tabor, David Coplowe’s ex-Piers Courage McLaren M4A and David Brown’s Brabham BT21 are among the Formula Two entries, together with at least five Formula 5000 cars.

“We are aiming to go out with 20 cars, and the signs are we’ll achieve that. Everyone is very enthusiastic,” said organiser David McLaughlin.
