Graham Hill set up my car

Sir,

I was fascinated to read the excellent BRM story in your 75th Anniversary Issue.

In 1962 I bought the P48 BRM which I planned to compete in the RAC Hill Climb Championship. I decided to gain some experience so booked Silverstone.

When my small team and I arrived we found the works BRM team. I felt like turning round and creeping away. We need not have worried, Graham Hill came over to us and introduced himself and because my car had been his team car he offered to do some laps to set the car up for me. He asked his mechanics to make various alterations and gave us a huge box of parts.

What a super man and a great introduction to my new pride and joy.

I am, yours, etc. Tony Griffiths, Kenilworth
