Stewart Junior tries his hand

Paul Stewart, elder son of three-times World Champion Jackie Stewart, has started motor racing at the wheel of a Formula Ford 1600 Van Diemen RF87. Sponsored by the Carphone Group, he will take in a programme of 13 minor-league races during his four-month summer vacation from studying political science at Duke University, North Carolina. Paul admits that he had to overcome pretty tough parental opposition before being allowed to take a course at the Brands Hatch racing school, which he completed under borrowed identity so as to guarantee his anonymity.
