V to C miscellany, June 1987
A 1906 Charron CGV has been found in Argentina, with a chain-drive chassis and Rothschild ten-seater touring body in its original paint and upholstery. Its 75hp engine, which is missing, was a four-cylinder T-head with separate cylinders and exposed timing-gears. The Californian discoverer wonders whether there might be an ex-fire engine or truck engine in England which would suit this car.
The Riley Register announces its 32nd Annual Rally at Coombe Countryside Park, just outside Coventry, on June 20-21, in the Year of the sixtieth anniversary of Monaco saloon production, and the fiftieth of the Big-4 Rileys. On the Sunday there will be a Riley Parade from 9am to 11am between the old Fulesbill Riley works and the Park, where more than 200 Rileys will be arrayed for public inspection. WB
