Paper aeroplanes
LIONS CLUB of Yeovil, Somerset, is organising an International Paper Aeroplane Contest, sponsored by the Haynes Publishing Group whose motoring books and manuals absorb over 3,000 tons of paper a year. Entries closed on May 31st but after fly-offs round the country the Grand Fly-Off will hear Yeovil’s Fleet Air Arm Museum on June 19th. There are classes for distance, duration, aerobatics, origami(?) and rotary-wing and we bet the entered aircraft all of which will receive Certificates of Performance fly better than those dart-like aeroplanes we made from folded newspapers in our youth. Details from the Fleet Air Arm Museum. — W.B.
