Pride and Joy
Sir,
Further to the adverse correspondence over the last few months regarding TR6 and more recently “Dolomite Sprint”, I feel I must mention my “Pride and Joy”.
I acquired my MG-B GT V8 in September 1974; it was six months old and had covered 4,000 miles. To date it has pottered around the Pembrokeshire outback, made the pilgrimage to Murrayfield, the January trip to Twickenham, covering a total now of 38,000 miles.
Apart from two “duff” alternators and a replacement pair of rear shock-absorbers nothing at all has gone wrong. I can only comment as follows: economy, excellent for the “sufficient” performance, road-holding, comfort and sheer joy of driving a reliable car. Long live the MG division of BL.
Incidentally, my wife’s 1973 Mini Clubman has been equally reliable, though I wouldn’t say “performance” was sufficient!
M. K. DAVIES Kilgctty, Pembrokeshire.
