Dennis Hulme

Sir,

In your article “Trio at the Top—Three Future Champions” in the April issue, it is mentioned that there are four World Champions still racing. It is also stated that it is likely that this year’s champion will come from two of them—Fittipaldi and Stewart. Included in the four is John Surtees who can hardly be said to be still racing. Missing from the four is 1967 Champion Denny Hulme. Not only is he a past champion who is still racing, but while he may not be favourite for this year’s title, he is still a serious contender. Last year he was third in the championship and at present is lying in the same position this year.

Personally, I would rate Hulme in the top five GP drivers along with Fittipaldi, Stewart, Ickx and Amon.
