Vintage-size tyre prices
Sir,
The letter from Mr. P. S. Pollock, Managing Director of Vintage Tyre Supplies Ltd. in your April issue is both instructive and timely and I hasten to associate myself with his views.
Many of us are greatly indebted to Dunlops for continuing to produce tyres of the sizes needed by Veteran and Vintage car owners, and without their support we should be unable to keep our vehicles on the road.
Surely, anyone who can afford to run a vintage car, particularly at today’s prices, should not quibble about paying a fair and economic price for an article which is specially manufactured for his pleasure. Certainly he has no right to expect the cost of such a product to be subsidised by users of tyres of a more conventional pattern.
