End-to-End by Austin 7

Sir,

Just to get the records straight, my 1931 Austin Seven saloon completed the End-to-End Run (see page 480, May Motor Sport) in 21 hours 10 minutes, not 19 minutes, the average speed for the journey being 42 m.p.h. The carburetter used came off a 1932 Morris Minor.

I would be interested to know if any other pre-war car has completed the journey in under this time.
