Book reviews, June 1961, June 1961
The three latest volumes in the Pearson car maintenance and repair series cover Humber cars from 1946 to date, all Vauxhall cars from 1933, and Ford Anglia, Prefect, Popular, Eight and Ten models from 1934 to date. These books are compiled with the help of the manufacturers and cost 12s 6d each. The Humber book deals with the Hawk Mk I to VI, New Hawk Series I, Ia and II, Snipe Mk 1, Super Snipe Mk I to IV, New Super Snipe Series I, II, III, and Pullman and Imperial Mk I, to IV, and covers most of the servicing and maintenance operations on these cars but does not cover those major overhaul procedures which require special tools.
The Vauxhall volume covers all models from 1933 but because of the large number of models concerned it has not been possible to include major engine overhauls in the book. The Ford manual deals with all 8 and 10 hp models from 1932 onwards and includes maintenance and overhaul data on the 105E engine and other mechanical components of the latest Anglia model.
