Sorry, Sir !

Sir,

As a matter of interest, was there ever a 1927 Speed Twenty Alvis ? I doubt it.

Anyway, “sackcloth and ashes” for you. My car is not a Speed Twenty, never has been, never will be, and hasn’t any Speed Twenty bits in it!

I don’t know if you think that commentators are just — fools and don’t know what they are talking about, but sometimes they get their facts right.

My car is a 16/95 Alvis, originally 14.75 (the first six-cylinder model the company made) bored out by them to 16.95 in 1929.

If you want further proof the engine number is 6645 and chassis 11142, so if you check with Alvis Ltd., you will see that you are up the spout!

I agree it isn’t original, but it does annoy me to see it described as a Speed Twenty.

I am, Yours, etc.,

R. C. R. March,

Newton Abbot.
