9th British Empire Trophy Race
Supplementary Regulations are now being issued for the 9th B.R.D.C. International British Empire Trophy Race to be run over 40 laps of a 3 3/4-mile course at Douglas, Isle of Man, on Thursday, August 21st next. The race is for supercharged cars up to 1,500 c.c. and unsupercharged cars up to 4,500 c.c. The closing date for entries is July 28th and, of the entry fee of £20, £15 will be refunded to starters who complete not less than one lap of the circuit. The awards include The British Empire Trophy (perpetual), Replica and £250 to the winner, and substantial cash prizes down to 5th place. The Fairfield Memorial Trophy (perpetual) and Replica goes to the first British driver to finish and a new perpetual award, a valuable Silver and Niello trophy, goes to the driver of the car completing the fastest lap. This latter award has been presented to the Club by a Siamese firm of silversmiths to commemorate the hospitality extended to “B. Bira” by the British motor-racing community.
The British Empire Trophy race will be preceded by a 45-mile race for supercharged cars up to 1,100 c.c. and unsupercharged cars up to 2 litres.
B.R.D.C. Stag Dinner. A Stag Dinner will be held on 16th June at Pimm’s Restaurant, Bishopsgate, E.C.2.
