Pescarolo forced to miss Le Mans
Sports car legend Henri Pescarolo will have no competitive involvement in the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time in 40 years.
Pescarolo, 67, will not be involved in this year’s edition of the 24 Hours after the team that bears his name pulled out of the event. Pescarolo would have run the team he set up for the 2000 season had a buyout with the owner of the Renault Formula 1 team gone ahead.
Gravity Sports Management and Genii Capital pulled out of a deal to take over Pescarolo Sport in April. The Sora composites group, which bought the team in the winter of 2008-09, subsequently scratched its Le Mans entries at the start of May.
