Electric bike wins favour

A new electric bike has been built to prove alternative power can still offer two-wheeled speed and enjoyment.

The TTX01, the prototype for the TTXGP alternative-power race to be held at the Isle of Man, was tested at Zolder in May by Team BMW Motorrad rider Werner Daemen and veteran car and bike racer Didier de Radigues. “There aren’t so many differences between a normal bike and an electric bike,” said Daemen. “There’s no engine braking but the rest is almost the same, apart from the noise – that’s the biggest difference of course.”
