Waldegård to defend Safari
Former World Rally champion Björn Waldegård will head the entry list for the fourth East African Safari Classic Rally when the 2600-mile event starts in Mombasa on November 22.
The five-times winner of the original Safari rally and winner of the last classic Safari in 2007 will drive a Porsche 911 prepared by the Tuthill team in Banbury. His rivals will include Frédéric Dor, who finished second in ’07.
The world’s other marathon gravel rally will run again in 2010 following confirmation that the New Zealand Silver Fern will be held from November 6-13. It will cover over 600 miles of special stages on the South Island, starting from Christchurch.
