Amon Ferrari has first race in 39 years
The Ferrari 312 raced during 1968 by Chris Amon returned to racing after a gap of 39 years when new owner Jean-Francois Decaux contested the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in the pre-wing car.
The London-based Frenchman has acquired chassis number seven and entrusted its preparation to Rick and Rob Hall. He duly finished at Monaco, in what was thought to be the car’s first race since 1969.
“This is the car of my dreams when I was a boy and I could not resist buying it,” said Decaux. “For me, this is the most beautiful F1 car ever built by Ferrari.”
