Archie to hit the big screen?

Nearly half a century after his death, the life story of Archie Scott Brown has taken the first step to becoming a feature film. California-based Yellow Sky Productions has taken an option to make a film based on Archie And The Listers, the outstanding biography of Scott Brown by Robert Edwards, and talks about creating a script are underway with Julian Fellowes, the Oscar-winning writer of ‘Gosford Park’.

Both Edwards and Brian Lister are said to be delighted by the news. No further information about when the film would be made nor who might play the lead was available as we went to press, but it would seem clear that filling the role of a seriously disabled racing driver with the heart of a lion and the talent to beat the very best will tax the resources of even the finest casting director.
