Taruffi’s daughter contests Mille Miglia

Prisca Taruffi, daughter of Piero, contested the Mille Miglia in May at the wheel of the Ferrari 315 S with which her father won the last road race in 1957. This year’s retro event marked the 80th anniversary of the first Brescia-Rome-Brescia road race.

“To drive the some car my father drove 50 years ago is a dream come true,” said Prisca, a journalist and racing driver. “If is something I have hoped to do ever since I started racing. Ferrari could not have given me a finer gift.”

The 315S, chassis number 0684, is still painted with the original 535 starting time from the epic 1957 victory, and is one of just two cars built. American John McCaw, who co-drove with Prisca, now owns the car.
