Brands fan

Sir,

When choosing the right venue for a Grand Prix, only one factor should be considered: does it provide ample viewing for the spectator?

All other factors are a moot point, as no circuit should be considered if it isn’t safe enough, capable of providing parking facilities, and so on.

If Nicola Foulston can provide the above, it comes down to a straight fight between Brands Hatch and Silverstone as to where the race should be held. At that point we have an undisputed winner.

Silverstone is a circuit without atmosphere or spectator viewing points. Brands Hatch’s natural amphitheatre is a racing fan’s paradise.

I will be first in line for tickets to the Grand Prix when it is next held in Kent. Keep a space clear for me at Paddock Hill Bend…
