Ford breaks BMW's ETC stranglehold

The BMW M3’s dominance of intemational saloon car racing came to an end at Zolder on June 7 when a Ford RS Cosworth driven by Steve Soper/Pierre Dieudonne/Klaus Nieckwiedz won the Belgian round of the European Touring Car Championship.

The Ford finished two laps ahead of the similar car shared by Benetton F1 driver Boutsen and Klaus Ludwig. The best placed BMW was third in the hands of Altfrid Heger/Winni Vogt.
