Twenty years of the Ferrari Owners Club, forty years of the marque, and the 5000th car sold in Britain are being celebrated at an international event in Cheshire on July 16-19. Centres of activity will be a hotel in Prestbury and Oulton Park Circuit.

London’s Dorchester Hotel will be the scene of the British Automobile Racing Club’s 75th anniversary celebrations on the night of Friday October 23. Tickets for the Grand Gala Ball and Casino cost £34 for members and £36 for non-members, profits being devoted to the BARC’s rescue fund. Silverstone’s 1000km meeting on May 9 included the first round of a new championship for modified Porsches, the Autofarm Performance Porsche Club GB Challenge. Intended to be inexpensive and fun, the series will comprise five rounds, and may next year include an additional class for “exotic” Porsches. Amateur enthusiasts in the United States have founded the Monoposto Register, whose declared purpose is to preserve, restore, exhibit and race authentic pre-1970 single-seaters. The Register will organise race series for various classes of cars and will sponsor the 1987 North American Formula Junior Championship.
Lancia Motor Club holds its Annual General Meeting on Sunday July 5 in New Brighton. A full programme of events for the weekend includes a tour of Port Sunlight and formal dinner in Birkenhead on the Saturday, and concours and driving tests on the Sunday afternoon.
