THE MG GAR CLUB LTD. has some interesting events planned in July. On the second the Northern Concours d’Elegance and Motoring Gymkhana is to be held at Thortsby Hall, near ()Berton, Newark, Notts. THE 750 MC are to join the hunt tor promising lady competition drivers: we wish them better reactions than the giant Ford Motor Co. effort recently received from disgruntled losers in their search for female rallyistsl The 750 MC have staged an end-of-season race for ladies for some time (this year it is at Silverstone, October 14th), but now women will be encouraged to take part in the club’s racing formula on a more regular basis. Karting GP
Tim FOUR classes that go to make up top level kaning, ranging from 125 c.c. to 250 c.c., will contest the British Kan Grand Prix on July 29/30th. Each class will have its own GP title to squabble over. Recognising the serious nature of modern karting, the full 01′ Silverstone circuit layout has been reserved for the spectacular men and machines. Binoculars may be needed to sort out the man you wish to support amongst the 60 machines that will take the grid for each race! Lap speeds are expected to better those recorded by 1.6-litre Formula Fords, which now have a lap record speed of slightly over too m.p.h.
