Starting a 40/50 Royce, for a Penny

Sir,

I was interested in your reminiscences of the R-R Chauffeur’s school, but surely the remark about putting a coin under the extra air valve is wrong. I do not see how it could be done. To start my Ghost when cold, you put the coin under the low speed jet lever, and incidentally put the steering column mixture control on full rich FIRST.
