New Lancia
Lancia (England) Ltd. have begun to import the 1300 c.c. version of the Beta Coupe to fill the gap left by the demise of the delightful little Fulvia. While the basic appearance remains the same as the 1600 and 2000 models, the 1300 has steel wheels and a bench rear seat. Like the rest of the range, this model has a high level of detail equipment. The transverse four-cylinder, in-line, twin-overhead camshaft 1297 c.c. engine produces 82 b.h.p. DIN at 6,200 r.p.m. and 79.2 lb. ft. torque at 3,300 r.p.m. It drives the front wheels through a five-speed gearbox. A top speed of 102 m.p.h. is claimed. It costs £3,643.
